Cognitive Behavioral or Solution-Focused Therapy

Because each client is different and unique in regard to their concerns, Brandi Tarver will use the method of therapy that she believes will help you meet their individual goals in the best manner possible. The methods that she typically employs are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
This is a talking therapy based on the idea that our thoughts associated with different situations or events cause our feelings and behaviors. This method of therapy is used to help clients overcome/change negative thought processes and the feelings stemming from these thoughts that are impeding their individual growth. 

Solution-Focused Therapy 
This form of therapy focuses on what you want to achieve through the therapeutic process. This method focuses on the present and the future, not the past. Through this technique, Brandi's job is to help you decide what you'd like your future to look like, and together, come up with small, attainable steps to help you accomplish your ultimate goals.

Together, we will tap into the strengths and resources you already use to help make the necessary changes in your life in the present while developing the skills necessary to make similar changes in the future.
